The Woodridge Boys Cross Country Team, the 2025 OHSAA Division III State Champions, will be honored with a special recognition during the varsity basketball doubleheader on Friday, December 12th. The recognition will take place at halftime of the boys basketball game, which tips off at 7:30 PM, following the girls’ varsity game at 6:00 PM.
The Bulldogs captured Woodridge’s 11th state championship in program history on Saturday, November 1st, at Fortress Obetz. Entering the state meet ranked number one in Ohio after winning the District and Regional Championships, the team embraced the challenge with a target on their backs. Woodridge scored 62 team points, with all five scoring runners finishing inside the top 30, demonstrating remarkable depth and consistency.
All-Ohio honorees included Atticus Sloan (4th overall), Ben LeBay (11th overall), and John Brock (15th overall). Rounding out the scoring were Xavier Griffiths (25th) and Remington Griffiths (28th), while Eli White (49th) and Devin Pietrowski (81st) also delivered strong performances in a field of more than 200 runners.
The recognition ceremony will celebrate not only the athletes’ achievements but also the leadership of Head Coach Jeff Howard and assistant coaches Leah Norris and John Harry, as well as the support of the entire Bulldog cross country community—parents, alumni, and friends—who make the program so special.
This championship adds to the storied legacy of excellence that defines Woodridge Cross Country, a program that has qualified both boys and girls teams to the state meet 21 consecutive years.
Congratulations to the 2025 Woodridge Boys Cross Country State Champions on a season that will be remembered for years to come!
