At Woodridge, our Student-Athlete Spotlights recognize standout performers from each of our varsity sports every season. These features highlight not only the accomplishments of our athletes, but also the leadership, dedication, and passion they bring to their teams.
This week, we are proud to feature senior Gavin Brinson, a sprinter for the Woodridge Track & Field program.
Gavin is a true teammate and a key member of the sprint crew that has set multiple school records this season. He continues to be a consistent presence in the success of the program and has played an important role in the team’s overall performance.
Beyond competition, Gavin is known for his commitment to his teammates. He routinely stays after workouts to help underclassmen with block starts and other fundamentals necessary to develop as sprinters. His willingness to invest in others reflects the type of leader he is within the program.
Gavin has shown steady progression every season he has been in the program and has developed into a strong contributor as a senior. His work ethic, consistency, and leadership have made a lasting impact on the Woodridge Track & Field team.
Head Coach Scott Mercer shared:
" Gavin is a quiet leader who has been a major asset to the program and a key reason for the team’s success. Gavin’s dedication, leadership, and team-first attitude represent what it means to be a Bulldog—committed, hardworking, and always striving to improve.
